Fort Hill Rifle & Pistol Club Service Rifle League
1. The league is open to the public. We are a CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) sponsored program. We only require that you be a SAFE shooter and comply with the direction of the range officials. CMP highpower rifle rules apply to all CMP and the NRA rules relative to rapid fire will be observed in NRA league matches. Score are eligible for recognition by the CMP in the CMP sanctioned matches (EIC, Garand, Springfield, Carbine and RF Sporter). NRA league scores will be eligible for submission to the NRA and will count towards reclassification.
2. Starting time for matches will be 0900 (1000 for 600 and Carbine/RF Sporter). All matches, except for the Carbine/RF Sporter, shall be conducted at the Warrior Mountain Range Facilities of the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club.
3. Match Types:
a. 800 Agg. X-Course – 800 aggregate score (80 total shots) match fired across the course with two sighters allowed prior to each of the following stages in NRA matches. There are no sighters in the CMP sanctioned matches:
i. 20 shots fired offhand at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit if 20 minutes. ii. 20 shots fired in two rapid fire strings in the sitting or kneeling position at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit of 60 seconds per string.
iii. 20 shots fires in two rapid fie strings in the prone position at the 300 yard SR3 target in a time limit of 70 seconds per string.
iv. 20 shots fire prone at the 600 yard MR target in a time limit of 20 minutes.
b. 500 Agg JCG – CMP approved John C Garand fired per Course B. 50 total record shots with 5 sighters allowed prior to the starting the record shots. The 50 record shots are fired per the following:
i. 20 shots fire prone at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit of 20 minutes. ii. 20 shots fires in a rapid fire string in the prone position at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit of 70 seconds. iii. 10 shots fired in a rapid fire string in the sitting or kneeling position at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit of 60 seconds. iv. 10 shots fired offhand at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit if 10 minutes.
c. 600 Agg. SF (600 yard) – 600 aggregate score (60 total shots) fired at the 600 yard MR target. The match consists of three 20 record shot strings with unlimited sighters fired in a time limit of 25 minutes. The start time for these matches is 1000 to allow for better light and fog burn-off.
d. CMP EIC (LEG) – 500 aggregate score (50 shots total) CMP sanctioned Excellence-In-Competition (LEG) match. No sighters allowed in this National Match style match fired as follows:
i. 10 shots fired offhand at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit if 10 minutes. ii. 10 shots fired in a rapid fire string in the sitting or kneeling position at the 200 yard SR target in a time limit of 60 seconds. iii. 10 shots fires in a rapid fie string in the prone position at the 300 yard SR3 target in a time limit of 70 seconds. iv. 20 shots fire prone at the 600 yard MR target in a time limit of 20 minutes.
e. Belleau Wood/D-Day – A set of two CMP approved matchers fired on the same day. One will be a Springfield (Belleau Wood) match and the other a John C. Garand (D-Day) match, both fired per Course A. 30 record shots per match with 5 sighters allowed prior to starting the record shots for each match. The 30 record shots for each match are fired per the following:
i. 10 shots fired prone at the 200 yard target in a time limit of 10 minutes. ii. 10 shots fired in a rapid fire string in the prone position at the 200 yard in a 70 second time limit. iii. 10 shots fired offhand at 200 yards target in a time limit of 10 minutes.
f. CMP Carbine/RF Sporter – A set of two CMP approved matches fired on the same day. One will be a 40 record shot M1 Carbine match and the other a 60 record shot RF Sporter Rifle match. 5 sighters allowed prior to starting the record shots for each match. All firing is done at the 100 yard line at Fort Hill’s Morning Side Drive Range. The course of fire for each shall be per the applicable CMP rules for the match type.
4. Equipment – Any rifle with any sight is allowed for 800 Agg. X-Course and 600 Agg. SF (600 yard) matches. The CMP approved John C. Garand and Springfield matches will be restricted to standard grade, classic service rifles as required by the CMP. The CMP sanctioned EIC matches shall be restricted to rifles compliant with the CMP regulations for service rifles. The Carbine and RF Sporter matches will be restricted to rifles compliant with the CMP regulations for each of these rifle types. All rifles must have an Open-Chamber-Indicator (OCI) inserted into the rifle’s chamber at all times when uncased and not involved with firing preparation or actual firing exercises.
